That was an awesome site, choop, because I found my retirement project car.

the challenge: link the best old car near you that's listed for no more than... let's say five grand.

this looks to be in half-decent shape. i've always liked the form factor, no matter the make or model names. it's like the opposite of an SUV, and looks great painted up as old glory or even green with woody panels.

this [url=http://www.autotraderclassics.com/classic-car/1985-Ford-F150-297243.xhtml?actionMethod=find%2Fvehicle%2FvehicleSearchResults.xhtml%3AuShipController.init&conversationId=449360]1985 f150 is, at 25 years old, a legitimately antique vehicle. the early '80s f150 is the epitome of the pickup truck; this one's a couple years newer than i'd like, but what an example. i don't even care about the amateur paint job, at least it's in a great color.

but this '65 corvair might be my favorite find yet. it's incredibly undervalued considering its condition, though that odometer might have rolled once or twice. the interior is in perfect shape, and the paint looks great as well. i like the fact that' it's a two-door with a usable backseat, and i don't even mind that it's a chevy - the engine might be small but a car that size doesn't need much more, and i wouldn't exactly buy it for racing.

You say Ford, I say Chevy. At one point I took a '74 Chevy C10 short bed off an Uncle, put a 283 in it with a new Saginaw 3 speed and moved the shift off the column to the floor with a Hurst kit. Gave it up when I had another Uncle in circumstances. He took it out into the Mojave desert and killed it. As far as I know, it's still sitting out there, slowly rusting and picking up bullet holes. I'd like another to flex out with a 4.11 rear end and I'd paint that fucker Chevy Orange.

After I fixed this one up I'd be ready for some old-school porn! Fuck those bistachious and their new convertible pony cars!

chevy trucks from back then are great, i just like the driveability of an '83 f150. plus every chevy s10 i've ever known has wrecked, and badly.
